Because of road closures and vehicle weight restrictions in the vicinity of the exhibition centre, special conditions are in effect for trade fair delivery traffic.

Closure of the Zoobrücke bridge for heavy-duty vehicles over 30 tons
Please note that Cologne’s Zoobrücke bridge has been closed to heavy-duty vehicles over 30 tons gross vehicle weight since 15th October 2010. Please use the detour routes that have been posted by the city of Cologne.

Closure of the Grenzstraße street tunnel for trucks over 7.5 tons
Because of ongoing fire safety improvements and the refurbishment work that will follow, the Grenzstraße street tunnel, which is located on the city motorway between the Zoobrücke bridge and the Köln-Ost motorway interchange, has been closed to trucks over 7.5 tons since the beginning of August 2012 and will remain closed until further notice.
Therefore, please take the Köln-Buchforst exit and follow the posted detour route. This will take you to Frankfurter Straße, then onto the Vingster Ring and from there onto the eastern connecting motorway (A559) in the direction of the exhibition centre. As an alternative, you can take the A4 to the Gremberg interchange, which will also lead you onto the eastern connecting motorway (A559).
