A Carbon Neutral CARBON EXPO
We are pleased to announce that CARBON EXPO 2011 is going to offset its GHG emissions emitted onsite during the event in partnership with GARRIGUES, AENOR and GAS NATURAL FENOSA.
GARRIGUES MEDIO AMBIENTE, the consultancy branch of GARRIGUES, will carry out the inventory and offsetting, while the process will be verified by AENOR.
GAS NATURAL FENOSA will provide the Voluntary Emission Reductions from the CDM project Wind Farm La Venta II in Mexico.
GHG emissions within Fira de Barcelona premise will be calculated ex-ante, monitored during the event (between 1st and 3rd, both included) and adjusted ex-post.
Voluntary Emissions Reductions will be retired accordingly in order to make CARBON EXPO 2011 carbon neutral. In addition to this, it is of crucial importance and understanding to the co-organizing partners that participating delegates will responsibly carry out the offsetting of the emissions linked to their travel to the event.
