1924

The first Cologne fair in modern history is opened on May 11, 1924 in the presence of the President of the Reich, Friedrich Ebert. Given the limited exhibition area of 32,000 square meters, it is only possible to accept 3,000 applications of which 45 came from abroad, from the 13,000 received. The event is conceived as a general samples fair. In the same year, the Deutz fairgrounds become the venue for various exhibitions.
